How to look and feel fresh while sleeping less? Whatever the reason for the lack of good sleep – whether it’s the stressful job, deadlines, personal problems or having a baby, we all know that being sleep deprived is really tough to handle.

Daily life tasks feel impossible and the person staring from the mirror screams for a nap. So, when there’s no way to catch up on sleep, these little hacks and tips come in really handy, so you can feel and look a bit more like your usual self!

Sip a cup of coffee (or three) and let’s talk about these ‘6 easy steps to look and feel fresh while sleeping less’.

Looks like the ‘coffee part’ comes as a hidden bonus tip before we’ve even started, yay!

STEP 1 – Hydrate

morning, water, hydration

Tired or not, it’s always a good idea to start here – HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Can’t stress on this more. No better way to look and feel fresh while sleeping less! As we’re all aware, water is vital to us. To our body. To our mind. It helps us feeling and looking good, having more energy, and avoiding the ‘fake hunger cues’, which also keeps us fit.

Imagine being super tired (if reading this article you might not need to imagine it though LOL ) and super thirsty at the same time… your body will feel like giving up! No energy, no nothing! Ugh!

The human body consists of 60% water and in order to keep yourself and your skin healthy and glowing, you might want to drink at least 2 litres per day as a bare minimum. Even more, depending on your body. There’s nothing worse than being super tired and really dehydrated on top of that! Pour a glass of water after you read each step from this article now and bottoms up!

STEP 2 – Exercise

workout, yoga, stretch

Here comes the second tip – EXERCISE! No surprise, right? Sport is always the answer!

This could literally be the last thing on your mind after a sleepless night (or months of sleepless nights – hello mums!), but it’s no myth that a good workout leaves us feeling way better and more energized afterwards.

It doesn’t have to be the best workout you’ve ever done. Some movement still counts and helps those endorphins do their magic in making you feel less shitty. Plus, it’s a bonus when these workouts start to pay off and you start seeing results. Not bad at all, huh?! Put your favourite sports set on and get going! Home workout, gym workout – it doesn’t matter. Do what you can fit in!

STEP 3 – Take a shower

morning, shower, bath

Whether you’ve followed the previous advice on exercising or not, TAKING A SHOWER is always a great idea to wake your body up and feel much more refreshed. ALMOST like you’ve slept.

If you are really busy and don’t have time for anything else, this might be the only step you need. It always works wonders! Especially if you try and use a slightly cooler water. A total game changer!

On the other hand, if you are not in a rush and you have a bathtub plus a bit of free time, taking a bubble bath might feel just like a little SPA treatment at home too! Put a favourite song on, light some candles and enjoy some well-deserved  ‘me time’!

STEP 4 – Skincare

skincare, moisturise

TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN is a must to look good, even when sleep deprived. All mammas would agree here! Yes, makeup helps, but having a good, clear, well taken care of skin is like a nice blank paper to draw on. Using the right products for your skin type is vital!

We hydrate our body with water and the same goes to our skin. We must use suitable products to moisturise and refresh it. A nice cream, serum and an eye cream can do wonders and prepare you to slay the day, leaving you glowing.

Still tired, but glowing!

STEP 5 – Makeup

makeup

Here comes the ‘real-life filter’ – what else than THE MAKEUP! On the toughest sleepless nights makeup is our best friend to hide the little imperfections and to erase at least a bit that tired look on your face. Goodbye dark circles and undereye bags! What better way to look and feel fresh while sleeping less?!

Even if you don’t feel like taking the time to put makeup on, you will not regret it when you do! Promise! It’s proven that looking good immediately boosts your mood on days when you don’t feel like doing anything and everything seems like a hassle. You’re doing something for yourself plus you end up looking even hotter!

What a deal!

STEP 6 – Take a walk

walking, park

TAKE A WALK! Go to the nearest park, stroll around the neighbourhood, or just run to the supermarket. Clear your mind, take a deep breath of some fresh air and if you are not a workout lover – a walk it is! This is the easiest way to move your body and feel at least a bit more refreshed. Plus, it’s free and a change of scenery always comes in handy when dealing with everyday life struggles!

Call a friend to come with you or at least chat a bit over the phone. Time flies by that way. You know what they say – shared struggle becomes less heavy!

And voila! It looks like this last step wrapped up our list of how to look and feel fresh while sleeping less in 6 easy steps.
